I have CRM 3.0 set up on a SQL 2000 server in our production environment.
i would like to re-create it in a different network to test the SQL 2005 upgrade and then the CRM 4.0 upgrade.

I already have a DC running in the new network, but do not want to move over my entire AD structure.

I will install SQL 2000 on the new server and copy over a backup copy of the CRM databases from the production server. I will install CRM 3.0, but my question is how to get this to work correctly.
Will I need to re-import the customizations and workflows?
Will I need to reset users?

After CRM is up and running in test I will upgrade SQL 2000 to 2005 and SP it to the current level.
After this is done I will work with a developer to make sure all of our reports and customizations will work in 4.0 and perform the upgrade.

Any insight into what I may be doing wrong?

    Thanks fo your time.

    Here are some quick steps:

1 = move databases on new sql server
2 = create the security groups in active directory (crm setup always create the security groups in AD)

3 = install the crm while pointing to the existing databases. When you point to the existing databases then you dont need to import workflow or anything else (as well as i dont myself few times).
