Thanks Justin for the announcement and welcome to the forums. Your Prophet program seems very interesting and I always thought of looking deeper into what it does, though never got the time for doing that - will make some time in the near future to review Prophet.

By Puget Sound Business Journal

CRM Solution Providing Strong Growth

Avidian Technologies, the leading provider of the easiest CRM solution for Microsoft Outlook, was named one of the fastest-growing private companies by the Puget Sound Business Journal. Avidian earned this distinction through the success of its flagship product, Prophet 5. As the easiest CRM solution for Outlook, Prophet 5 provides powerful sales automation functionality.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal, and we are happy so many companies have found tangible benefits from Prophet 5,” said Tim Nguyen, president and co-founder of Avidian. “Our customers continue to use our offerings to grow their businesses and find its integration with Outlook essential to the success of their sales processes.”

Unlike traditional big iron CRM or sales management software, Prophet is built into Outlook, eliminating the need to manage multiple contact databases or toggle between separate applications. Built on the .NET 2.0 platform, Prophet works entirely inside Outlook and easily integrates with other critical business capabilities. As a result, Prophet turns Outlook data into the building blocks of an effective sales management solution.

The Fastest-Growing Private Companies program was launched 14 years ago by the Puget Sound Business Journal to identify and recognize companies speeding to the top of their industries. To be eligible, companies must: be privately held and headquartered in Washington; have at least $500,000 in net revenue in 2005; show an overall growth from 2005 to 2007 fiscal years; and agree to have their CPA confirm their net operating revenues with Puget Sound Business Journal and accounting partner Grant Thornton.

The 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies program is presented by the Puget Sound Business Journal; co-presented by Grant Thornton; and sponsored by KeyBank, Lane Powell, Microsoft, Mortenson Construction and Robert Half International.

About Avidian Technologies

Avidian Technologies is a software company specializing in creating software solutions for users of Microsoft Outlook and Exchange. Prophet, developed by Avidian Technologies on the .NET platform, is the leading contact management and CRM software built inside Outlook. The company is headquartered in Redmond, Washington.
I installed the CRM 4.0 Client for Outlook on a machine with Outlook 2007. After the CRM Client was installed and configured, I started Outlook. It displayed the main window, then shut itself down. I tried to start it again. This time, a dialog was displayed saying that Outlook was not shut down properly, and did I want to start in Safe Mode. I started Outlook in Safe mode, but the result was the same. Outlook started, displayed the main screen, then shut itself down. When I uninstalled the CRM 4.0 client, Outlook started working again.
Business Contact Manager is being used on the Outlook client in question.

I finally found the issue. Upon inspecting the registry it appeared multiple versions of Office were installed at some point. This is odd as it is a clean build. However instead of deleting the old office keys in the registry I re-installed office 2007 and setup worked without issue.

I had the same problem on one computer where I had (for development reasons) multiple different Office versions; 2000, 2003, 2007, different languages...
I never could get the CRM client to recognize that there was indeed the correct version of Outlook there, too.

Sebastian,
Thanks for your reply. Are you connecting wirelessly when CRM fails to load, or are you on a wired/cabled connection? We have had an open case regarding this problem with Microsoft since June 2nd, and other users are now starting to report the same error. (My current theory is that there is a timing issue with CRM loading before Outlook.) When/if a hotfix is issued, I will post the information.

same setup at me. Works so far but if I switch to Internet mode I've to kill Outlook process after that error message and to restart Outlook again for being able to connect. Seems to be a bug while switching to IFD authentication.
