Hi Yeshua,
We don't have any clients set up like that so I cant test it for you, but if memory serves me correctly you can drop down to a command line (osql.exe if think, is the msde command utility) and drop the databases using tsql (check out the MSDE online help DROP DATABASE would be a good start). If the files still remain you can delete them now.
Cheers

Hello Dan,
Thanks for replying. Wish it was that easy. What if they are running other programs that need the SQL services? I just want to make sure I remove only the CRM MSDE instance and not interfere with the other programs that still need SQL.

Hi,
Once removing the SQL services etc, you can just delete the databases as regular files.

How do you uninstall the CRM 3.0 MSDE instance (database) from the laptop? I went in into Add and remove programs and uninstalled the CRM laptop client. I also went to uninstall the MSDE that was installed when i installed CRM 3.0 Laptop Client. I went into Add and Remove programs and selected SQL Server 2005 and clicked on change. Then under Remove SQL Server 2005 instance components I select the CRM:Database Engine and click next. When it's finished I look in the Microsoft SQL Server folder MSQL1, MSQL, Data and the databases are still there. What are the steps to completely remove CRM Laptop Client and the CRM Databases?

Hello,
I'm trying to find the system views such as "active contacts" or "No Orders - Last 6 Months" in the database from CRM. It must be either views or filters... but they must be somewhere in the database. I have no clue where it is and can't find it. Could anyone please give me a little hint?

Thank Matt, they are using the MSDN 10 licenses in the test environment so I think assigning all the accounts to a single user once moved is are only option. If the redeployment is uses would that leave the production environment inoperable? What have you seen other customer do to truly
replicate environments? Thank you

Redeployment can definitely be used to move between domains. The key though is ensuring you have enough AD Users to map all the prod users to when you run the Wizard.

our customer is looking to replicate there production data dynamics 3.0 into a Q/A
we already have an existing Q/A environment set up but the data is outdated.
We have an integration set up between 8 Great Plains companies & a propriety DB, using Scribe. What would be the best way to mirror the data? It would be simple to copy the Great Plains database; I think we could update the Scribe Keycross reference two way table. But the CRM data is not as transportable. Would using the CRM redeployment be an option? I have used this one before but only to move the database server within the same domain. We would be moving the CRM database to another domain and still leave the existing database in production.

We have done this in the passed. We always did it this way, which did work!
Backup everything (Just to be safe!)
Removed CRM4, but did nothing to the SQL databases.
Reinstalled CRM4, creating a dummy organization, with a different name to the one we want.

Once CRM4 is installed, open Deployment Manager
Click on Orgnizations, then click import. At this point you can point to the SQL database with your organization in it.
This will put your organization into CRM.
There is also a know bug with this, to do with workflow. Have a look here. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950680/en-us

Hope you manage to resolve your issue
