Hi Yeshua,
We don't have any clients set up like that so I cant test it for you, but if memory serves me correctly you can drop down to a command line (osql.exe if think, is the msde command utility) and drop the databases using tsql (check out the MSDE online help DROP DATABASE would be a good start). If the files still remain you can delete them now.
Cheers

Hi,
I'm trying to install the Outlook "off-line" client and I'm getting the following message when the installer tries to install the SQL*Server pre-requisite.
Installation Failed: unknown exit code 28086.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem or how to find out what's causing it
I'm running XP and Outlook/Office 2007
Thanks in advance, Andy.

Hello Dan,
Thanks for replying. Wish it was that easy. What if they are running other programs that need the SQL services? I just want to make sure I remove only the CRM MSDE instance and not interfere with the other programs that still need SQL.

Hi,
Once removing the SQL services etc, you can just delete the databases as regular files.

check the filter on the view - it might be set to something like "where owner = current user" or something that would cause that user to see zero rows.

In our Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 system we have created a custom view for the "Contacts" entity. One of the users of our system who has user privileges at the organizational level can access contact records when they search for them in the system; however, whenever they select the view, no records display.

This appears to be a problem only for the user in question because other users in the system, myself included, can view records using the view. All permissions/user roles for the user in question appear to be fine, which is supported by the fact that they can access records when they search for them individually.

What can be done in either the CRM system or elsewhere to determine the cause of the problem and then fix it?

How do you uninstall the CRM 3.0 MSDE instance (database) from the laptop? I went in into Add and remove programs and uninstalled the CRM laptop client. I also went to uninstall the MSDE that was installed when i installed CRM 3.0 Laptop Client. I went into Add and Remove programs and selected SQL Server 2005 and clicked on change. Then under Remove SQL Server 2005 instance components I select the CRM:Database Engine and click next. When it's finished I look in the Microsoft SQL Server folder MSQL1, MSQL, Data and the databases are still there. What are the steps to completely remove CRM Laptop Client and the CRM Databases?

Hi John, most of our users only use the Outlook Client but all users seemed to be having record saving issues, etc. at the same time. We also display a records related entity as an IFRAME which showed as an error (if that helps).

The few users who do use the web client for email templates, etc. were having issues also.

The only event log issues I can see relate to c360 Audit add-on which I wouldn't imagine having to much to do with the web client (eg; Event Viewer - Application: had a number of Failure Audit - MSSQLSERVER errors). Our only Error's listed were directly related to our c360 Audit (which we are also currently having issues with).

was this happening from any web client on any of your client machines or all of them. Can you check the event logs on the CRM web server to see if there are any errors showing in the time frame this was happening.
